How to make Asam Pedas Tempoyak

Hey guys, here at KenduriTV there are no specific measurement to all our recipes. You kind of have to wing it and always taste as you go! That makes cooking much more fun!

PASTE

20 Dried chilies (handful) – De seed and soak in hot water.
1 Spanish/Red Onion – Whole
2 Garlic – Cloves

*Blend all the above into paste

500g Catfish (Ikan patin), cut into pieces
Belachan – 1/2 teaspoon
Tumeric – 1/2 teaspoon
1 Vietnamese mint – Daun kesum ; Handful/whole bunch
150g Tempoyak – paste
Tamarind pulp – soaked in 1/3 cup of water
Water – According to own preference and consistency.

This serves 4-6 people and best eaten with steamed rice.
